Photographic Adventures in Paradise
Sunday’s visit to the Cliff of the dawn on Isla Mujeres which I find one of the most beautiful places on the planet. If you ever wanted to get up close and personal with the sea this is the place to do it. It was very windy and the wave action was awesome. Here are some pictures.
Cliff of the Dawn is located on the South end of the Island of Isla Mujeres which lies off the coast of the city of Cancun, Mexico.
Sign explaining the significance of the Cliff of the Dawn
Walkways are located at three levels, the lowest one gets you right down there with the incoming waves……
When the big ones hit that rock it thundering
A shot through a broken railing section.………..
The sea was really churning………
From the upper walkway………..
There is a small admission to access this area of the island and it includes a metal sculpture garden of sorts, most of which are now rusting and deteriorating. The admission is proclaimed to be for the maintenance of the sculptures but we didn’t really see much evidence of it. There was a section of the railing missing on the lower walkway that really needs to be repaired before a someone falls into the sea. The admission has risen from 20 pesos to 30 pesos per person since our last visit this past October.
This is a picture of the only sculpture I liked………
If you visit Isla don’t miss a the Cliff of the Dawn. This is a very special place.
