We found this closed up bar in Ouray, Colorado. We had heard about it from Suzie’s son whom lived nearby in Ridgeway. It was a very popular place. It had only one way in and the same way out, so eventually it was closed by the Fire Marshal. Keith told Suzie that it was a huge cavern inside with several bars.
If you look closely, you can see two windows that were closed with cement cinder blocks. The one on the right has partially collapsed. The property has a huge gravel parking lot and must have been a jumpin’ place in it’s day. I wish I could have seen the inside.
You can also see what’s left of the electrical feed for the bar to the upper right hand side of the door. I don’t know if it had been a mine shaft at one time or what. I haven’t been able to find out anything about it. Keith said he went there several time for a drink or two and it was a fun place to party. I can only imagine what the inside of this most unusual place was like.
